Seedling:  leaves rolled in whorl; rough leaf blades and margins; fine textured leaf blades; no auricles; membranous, rounded, toothed ligule

Mature Plant:  bunch-type growth habit; open, drooping panicle; purplish to gray colored seed head

Method of Propagation: seed

Life Cycle: warm-season perennial
