Identifying Characteristics:

Seed:  oval shaped; size varies from 1.0 to 1.5 mm long and 0.7 to 0.9 mm wide; seed size is about half of an alfalfa seed; color varies from yellow to dark brown

Seedling:   glabrous leaves; arrow-shaped trifoliate leaflets without serrations; pronounced venation on leaves

Mature Plant:  white watermarks are generally found on leaflets; hollow and smooth stems that may be purple in color; erect growth habit; long, narrow stipules with white veins; conical flower head; flower color starts as white then turns to pink

Method of Propagation: seed 

Life Cycle: cool-season annual
