Identifying Characteristics:
Seed: angular shaped; 4 to 6 mm in length; light to dark brown in color; 2 indentations
Seedling: stem covered with short, downward-pointing hairs; compound leaves with 3 to 10 leaflets; larger terminal pair of leaflets; hairy, linear stipules
Mature Plant: erect, branching growth habit; solitary flowers located at leaf axils; yellow petals; pod is slender and up to 18 cm long
Method of Propagation: seed
Life Cycle: warm-season annual
