Identifying Characteristics:
Seed: oval-shaped seed with one flattened side; 3 prominent veins on flat side of seed; hairy; tan in color
Seedling: leaves rolled in whorl; densely pubescent stem and leaves; flat, hairy leaf blades; no auricles; membranous, toothed, papery ligule
Mature Plant: prostrate to spreading growth habit; raceme with 3 to 6 finger-like spikes; alternating glumes on raceme
Method of Propagation: seed, stolons
Life Cycle: warm-season annual
